Steve Jacobs is a member of the FirstMark Venture Partner Network, and serves as the Senior Vice President of Digital Technology for Hudson’s Bay Company (TSE: HBC). He is responsible for the digital experiences for Gilt, Saks, Lord and Taylor, Saks off 5th, and Hudson’s Bay. Jacobs joined HBC through the acquisition of Gilt in February 2016, and joined Gilt in August 2009.
Prior to Gilt, Jacobs headed up the High Performance Computing group at Merrill Lynch, where he managed globally distributed teams that were focused on maximizing grid efficiency for the many thousands of servers used for pricing and risk calculations. Before entering financial services, Jacobs was the CTO of Poindexter Systems, an online ad personalization and targeting company subsequently acquired by RocketFuel. In his five years there, Jacobs was responsible for development, architecture and operations.
Jacobs holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Columbia University. He is a founding member of DoSomething.org’s technical advisory board and is also on the Board of Advisors for Zaius, a marketing automation platform.
