Martin Nisenholtz is a Venture Partner at FirstMark. Martin led digital for the New York Times in a variety of executive capacities for over 15 years, positioning the Times as an innovator and leader through the unprecedented waves of challenge and opportunity brought about by the emergence and maturation of the web.
Today, Martin is a Professor at the Columbia Journalism School and serves on the boards of Postmedia (TSX:PNC.A, PNC.B), Yellow Media (TOR:YLO), eXelate, RealMatch, and Sulia (a member of the FirstMark community). Earlier in his career, Martin was also a founding faculty member of New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP), the first-ever graduate program focused on alternative media. He also founded the Interactive Marketing Group at Ogilvy & Mather, the first digital group at a major U.S. agency.
