Steve Case’s Revolution Growth Leads $20M Investment in Lolly Wolly Doodle
At a time when major retailers grapple with the fallout from outsourcing apparel manufacturing to developing countries, a small, rapidly growing children’s apparel upstart is proving that clothing can be made locally and at scale, by leveraging technology such as Facebook and the concept of just-in-time manufacturing.
Lolly Wolly Doodle just raised a $20 million round of investment, the company told VentureWire, the majority of which came from Revolution Growth, a fund led by Steve Case, co-founder of America Online. Earlier investors in Lolly Wolly Doodle, FirstMark Capital and Highline Venture Partners, participated in the deal, as well as new investor Novel TMT Ventures.
