About FirstSteps

At FirstMark, we are committed to investing in leading technology innovators who share our passion for making an impact by building exceptional, world-changing businesses. Our FirstSteps seed program is designed for early stage technology companies seeking investments of $50K-$750K. We prefer that companies have New York City headquarters, but will consider opportunities on a selective basis outside the region. We also have a bias towards companies with a full-time CTO to allow for rapid iteration and constant experimentation. We believe seed companies should surround themselves with a good network of advisors and supporters, and we frequently invest seed capital alongside angel investors or other institutional seed investors.

About the NYC Entrepreneurial Fund
Companies that are headquartered in New York City and meet certain other eligibility requirements may also be qualified to receive additional co-investment from the New York City Entrepreneurial Fund (NYCEF), a fund established by FirstMark Capital and the New York City Economic Development Corporation. This fund provides NYC-based technology startups with early-stage capital in similar investment amounts to those outlined above.
